We are very sad for the family but understand Michaels sufferings are over and he is at peace. Now the ones left behind are in pain You both had taken comfort in scripture quotes of which we have none to offer, but you have your own precious memories of the lifetime you and Michael shared.

I have such fond memories of laughing around the campfire, feeling touched over Kirky’s kindness when I was expecting Matthew years ago (how he called me ‘Momma’ before I was even used to the idea of motherhood), his big hugs… May all your MANY memories of his life with you sustain you all during this difficult time. What a great guy. 🙂

  48. Dear Family,

You don’t know me personally, but I got to know Mike working on the irrigation systems for the Buncombe County Schools. He was always extremely helpful, kind, warm, and a pleasant person to conduct business with. We shared the usual small talk about our families and other interests while working together. A couple of years ago he called me while I was fishing on Cape Lookout, and we talked so much about how good the fishing was that he almost forgot why he called. I thought you’d like to know how far his influence reached, and I’m very sorry for your loss.
