Mildred Pauline Farnsworth Anders, 81, of Asheville, died on Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at her residence.
A native of Buncombe Co., Mrs. Anders was a daughter of the late Harry S. Linger and Mary Ellen Henderson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Anders; and son, Glenn Alan Anders.
Mrs. Anders was a member of Cedar Hill Free Will Baptist Church, the Church Ladies Auxiliary, and the Woodfin Fire Dept. Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughter, Ellen Sampson and husband Howard, of Asheville; son, Steve Anders and wife Evelyn, of Horseshoe; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral service for Mrs. Anders will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. with the Rev. Larry Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
