Mildred Warren Evans, 88, formerly of Pisgah Highway, Candler, died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, in Knoxville, TN.
Mrs. Evans was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Augustus B. and Sallie Strange Warren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Walter Evans who died in 1988, and a daughter, Gail Evans, who died in 1993. Mrs. Evans was a dealer for Stanley Home Products for more than 35 years and was a member of Montmorenci United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter Pat Booth and her husband Rodney of Knoxville, TN; two grandchildren, Brian Booth of Raleigh, NC and Rhonda Hall and her husband Terry of Knoxville; and a great-granddaughter, Sydney Hall of Knoxville.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Monday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Neil Haynes and Dan Lyons and Ms. Jenn Brown officiating. Burial will be at Montmorenci United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service and suggest that memorials be made to Montmorenci United Methodist Church Building Fund, PO Box 610, Candler, NC 28715.
