Morris Haynes Cole

Morris Haynes Cole, 81, formerly of Leicester, NC, resided at Chunns Cove Assisted Living prior to his death. He died on March 4, 2025, from a hemorrhagic stroke.

Morris graduated from Leicester High School in 1961 and served four years in the U.S. Air Force. Afterwards, he met his wife and the love of his life, Carolyn Carr, who preceded him in death in 2013. His life was never the same thereafter. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm L. Cole and Phebe Ownbey Cole.

Morris is survived by three sisters, Marie Clark (Bill), of Greenville, SC, Nancy Plemmons (Skip), of Leicester, NC, and Patsy Cole of Leicester, NC; two nephews and one niece.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 9, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.

Private internment will be at Corinth Baptist Church, Leicester, NC.
