Myrtle Gregg Meadows, 83, of 982 Fletcher Martin Road, Alexander, died Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at Memorial Mission Hospital.
Mrs. Meadows was born in Buncombe County and was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Kitty Brooks Gregg and two sons Jesse Meadows and Richard Meadows.
She is survived by her husband Jerry William Meadows; two sons J.C. Meadows and his wife Diane and Leonard Meadows and his wife Mary Etta, all of Alexander; nine grandchildren, Bill, Neil, Loretta, Brenda, Sheila, Tammy, Tony, Chris and Lisa; fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Anthony Fox, Roy McPeters, Joe Honeycutt and Lee Davis officiating. Burial will be at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and at other times will be at the home of the son Leonard, 986 Fletcher Martin Road.

Was always very loving and very caring person. I’m very thankful she was in my life. She will be missed so very much by me. Mom and pop thanks for takeing great care of her in the last of her years. I will always remember the LOVE and the good times we shared.

I find it hard to believe that Myrtle has passed away. We have had some really good times together! She made me laugh and I made her laugh! When I think of Myrtle, I always think of her as a good friend. My heart goes out to her family. I know they are all feeling a great loss.
