Great Nan was my adopted grandmother. From the moment I married into the family she accepted not only me but my son Caleb as her own. Not once did she treat my son any differently than her other great grandchildren. She had such a gentle spirit when it came to the children. I remember the first time she held our Della Grace. Della was only a few days old and Great Nan rocked her to sleep for us. She just had that touch! All of the kids loved to visit Great Nan. They would run in and immediately raid her stash of crackers and cookies. She of course never minded the mess they made or how rowdy they could get. I’ll never forget our road trip to Gate City. What I would do for just one more car ride to hear her stories, or to hear her giving it right back to Chad as he was joking with her. She was so much fun that weekend! Although our hearts are breaking, I know she is in the arms of our Lord.
Debbie, Van & Ken,
Ma Draper was my ‘second mother’ for many years.
Please accept our deepest sympathy.

Van, Karen and Family:
We just learned of Nadine’s passing and are deeply saddened for your loss. Nadine was our neighbor for thirty years…and a wonderful neighbor she was. We can recall countless days of hearing Josh, Dallas and Chad laughing and playing in her yard throughout the years they were growing up. She loved her family and was quick to share a proud moment or comical tale. We will also remember her as the friendly face at Dalton’s Fairview 66 for the many years she worked there and the friendly visits we shared. We will miss her and always remember her fondly.
Van, Karen and the Draper Family,
Our sincere condolences to you, and our prayers will be with you. We were very sorry to hear of your moms passing. She will be missed in the community.
