Nancy Jo Gillis, 85, of Asheville, died Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals.
A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late James Herman and Thelma Lynch Fox.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 70 years, Clarence Gillis; two sons, Danny Gillis (Debra) of Richmond, VA and Timothy Gillis of Asheville; one sister, Doris Crisp of Fairview as well three grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. Burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Dear Family, we are sorry that we cannot be with you during this time. Aunt Nancy had the most wonderful smile and the greatest laugh. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. May God comfort you today and in the coming days.
To the Gillis Family, we are so sorry for your loss, she was a lovely lady with a warm and kind personality. Please know that all of you are in our thoughts and prayers.
