Nancy Lee Anderson Foster, 68, of 280 Black Oak Cove Rd., Candler, died on Saturday, February 28, 2009, at Emerald Ridge Rehab and Care Center. Mrs. Foster was a native of Buncombe Co., and was a daughter of the late Henry Johnson and Mary Etta Israel Anderson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Foster, who died in 1997. Mrs. Foster had a special interest in genealogy, and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a member of Piney Mountain United Methodist Church. Mrs. Foster is survived by her son, Ricky Foster and wife Amanda, of Candler; granddaughter, Myleigh Foster; sisters, Arida Young, and Henrietta Bagwell and husband Marvin; brother, Fred Anderson; and four nieces, Patty Reece, Cheryl Wiggins, Kim Taylor, and Rhonda McElrath. A memorial service for Mrs. Foster will be 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. with the Rev. Danny Gasperson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Buncombe Co. Kidney Foundation, c/o Asheville Kidney Center, 10 McDowell St., Asheville, NC 28801.
