Nell Evans McIntosh

Nell Evans McIntosh, 94, formerly of Buncombe County, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2009, at Ocean Trail Convalescent Center, Southport, NC. Mrs. Evans was born in Yancey County and was preceded in death by her parents, William and Reva Roland Evans, her husband, Jarvis L. McIntosh and a sister, Ola Cowan. Mrs. McIntosh had been a very active volunteer at the Asheville VA Medical Center and she was a member of the DAV Auxiliary. She is survived by her brother, Jack D. Evans and his wife, Ann, of Oak Island, NC, and by several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary Churchyard, Fletcher. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian, 72 Long Shoals Road, Arden.
