Noah Verdon Lovingood, 82, of 19 Pine Lane, Asheville, died Monday, June 11, 2007 at Mission Campus Memorial Hospitals. A native of Andrews, he was a son of the late Noah Henry and Tina Abernathy Lovingood. He was preceded in death by his wife Clarine Bryan Lovingood, who died on February 9, 2007. Mr. Lovingood was a retired brick mason, and co-owned C&V Florist with his wife. He was a US Army veteran of WWII, and was a member of Bent Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Lovingood is survived by two step-daughters, Phyllis Rich and husband Jerry, of Asheville, and Audrey Bruce, of Greenville, SC; two step-sons, Virgil Smith and wife Carol, of Hendersonville, and Steve Smith and wife Linda, of Asheville; two sisters, Juanita Tweed and husband Tom, and Mary Lou Allen; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Mr. Lovingood will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Bridges officiating. Interment will follow in the Veterans Cemetery.
