Arden ~ Novella King Justice, 78, of Arden, died on Sunday, April 23, 2006.
She was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County and member of the Foster Seventy-Day Adventist Church. She was doting mother, grandmother and friend and “Gram” to everyone in the neighborhood. She worked into her 70’s and spent her life taking care of others as a private duty nurse. She was always baking something for a friend or working in her garden.
She was the daughter of the late Minnie Boyd King and Wiley Oscar King. She was married to John Albert Justice, who died in 1999.
She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Ann Johnson and husband, Bob of Arden; four grandchildren and their spouses, Kim and Greg Counts and Elizabeth and Chris Johnson all of Charlotte, Kristen and Robbie Laughter of Hendersonville and Tracy and Brad Harrison of Spartanburg; two brothers, Felmet King of Texas and Joe King and wife Kathy of Hendersonville. She was “aunt Novella” to Doug, Gina, Kevin, Peggy, Vickie and Ed; great-grandmother of Ten, Ellie and Avery Counts, Westin, Abbie and Emma Johnson, Kalen, Austin and Carson Laughter, Braeden and Brycen Harrison.
Funeral services will be held 6:00 P.M. Wednesday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road with Pastor Erin Miller officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
A private graveside service will be held on Thursday in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hendersonville.

Dear Ruth, Chris and Kim,
Please know that you are continuously in my family’s thoughts and prayers during this time of loss. I know what an amazing mother and grandmother Gram was to all of you. She always made me feel so welcome in her home. She was truly a blessing and a living example of God’s love. My heart breaks for all of you but rejoices at the thought of she and Abby reuniting. Countless days of my childhood were spent at Gram’s house with her grandson Chris. Gram always found away to make each of those days more special than the next. I will always remember her loving heart and the caring words she shared with all of us. I love you and miss you Gram.
