Owen Conley Meadows, 84, of Leicester, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
Born August 7, 1940 in Buncombe Co., Owen was a son of the late Samuel and Florence Hawks Meadows. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Meadows, grandson, Tyler Meadows, and son-in-law, Rex Frisbee.
Mr. Meadows was loved by so many, and was called “Pops” and “Papaw” by his family. He attended Leicester Baptist Church, and was a hard worker till the end.
He is survived by his children, Mike Meadows (Melody), Sherry Frisbee, Randy Meadows (Apple) and Dwight Meadows (Kim); grandchildren, Amanda Barr (Jon), Jonathan Meadows (Gwen), Ashlee Ross, Courtney McHone (Ben), Cody Heatherly (Tiffany), Brooke Lankford (Mitchell), Autumn Robinson (Dillon), Trace Heatherly (Carlie) and Chloe Meadows; great-grandchildren, Trevor Ross, Ryleigh McHone, Kinsleigh McHone, Ellie Barr, Rayne Robinson, Parker McHone, Reese Barr, Maggie Lankford, Raelynn Robinson, McKenna Lankford, Morgan Lankford and Ivey Heatherly; and special family friend, Bernice Welch.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with Pastor Chad Ellege officiating. Interment will follow at Bell United Methodist Church Cemetery.
