Pamela Carol McMinn, 56, of Arden, went to be with her Lord on Monday, July 30, 2012. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of Geraldine Penley Ballard of Arden and of the late William Franklin Ballard Sr. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gary Franklin "Radio" McMinn, who died in March of 2012, as well as infant twin grandchildren. Pamela was a 1974 graduate of Reynolds High School, attended Biltmore Baptist Church and was an agent with Morrow Insurance Agency in Hendersonville. She loved life, being with friends and family and had a wonderful sense of humor. Pam was a beloved daughter and sister and a devoted wife, mother and grammy. "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." In addition to her mother, she is survived by one daughter, Tara Renee McMinn of Asheville; two sons, Jonathan McMinn of Fletcher and Brad McMinn and his wife, Leah, of Asheville; two sisters, Gloria Cole of Fletcher and Renee Parker of Hendersonville; one brother, William "Billy" Franklin Ballard Jr of Beaufort, SC; three grandchildren, Kylee, Mariah and Dane McMinn; several special nieces and nephews as well as her canine princess, "Abby". A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, August 2, 2012 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with the Reverend Kelvin Moseley officiating. Interment will follow at Shepherd Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:30-4:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family graciously asks that you consider contributions to your local American Cancer Society. An online memorial register is available at grocefuneralhome.com.

  7. Dear Tara, Brad, & Jonathan: We are so very sorry about your sweet mom. She was a good friend to me when I worked at Morrow. I so loved to hear her laugh. She was absolutely head over heels crazy in love with Gary, you three, and her beloved grandbabies! And, no one ever loved the beach more. She will be missed and remembered fondly. Thinking of her will always make me smile! May God surround you with memories of her and ease your pain.

  22. I am sorrowed to hear of Pam passing. She was such a great friend and classmate in school. What a wonderful person we have lost. I remember her for the predictable consistently warm, kind, and caring personality she managed to maintain even through the toughest of times. She’s reunited now with her life love and partner. She will forever be in our hearts. I have misty water colored memories of her warm smiling eyes and the cute grin she always gave in return for a compliment. My deepest sympathy goes out to her family at this time.

  25. Dear Tara, Brad, and Jonathan: Pami was a bright and shining presense here at Morrow! Her laughter was one of a kind. I will hold very special memories of our chats in her ‘beach office’. I always felt better after visiting with her! She always talked about her children and grandchildren, Gary, her Mom, and of course Abby and Jax – she loved all of you with her whole heart. I was blessed to have known her, and call her my friend. I will love Pam forever and always. Many prayers for all those heartbroken by her absense.
