Patsy "Pat" Gail Sherlin Sawyer, 75, of Asheville, died Sunday, December 16, 2012. A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Richard and Irene Sherlin Reed. Mrs. Sawyer attended Bethesda Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Jack Sawyer; son Dan Cable and his wife, Kim, of Candler; step-daughters Rene Haigler and husband Dennis of Monroe, NC, Lisa Bradley of Skyland, and Tamera Lynn Sawyer of Asheville; grandchildren Danielle Cable Carver and husband Mark of Leicester, Kimilee Cable of Candler, and Danny Cable and wife Meredith Cole of Candler; step-grandchildren Candace and Lacey Bradley; great-grandchildren Cobin Carver, Weston Carver, Aiden Carver, Dylan Cable, and Peri Bradley; and brothers Eddie Sherlin and wife Lorraine of Asheville, and Jim Sherlin and wife Betty of Leicester. Funeral services for Mrs. Sawyer will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Bethesda Baptist Church, with the Rev. Furman Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.

  5. I am sorry about Patsy’s passing. My sister went to school with Patsy; my twin sister and I went to school with Eddie and Delilah. Jimmy was a little younger. Can’t believe how quickly the years have passed. My deepest sympathy to the family.
