Patricia J. "Patsy" Harwood

Patricia J. "Patsy" Harwood, 78, of Bassett Rd., Asheville, died Sunday, September 30, 2012, at St. Joseph Hospital. A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Claude James and Louise Bowles Jones. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cline "Jay" Harwood, and by her sister and brother-in-law Claudette and Richard Walker. Mrs. Harwood was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Harwood; nephew Richard Walker, Jr. and his wife, Diane; niece Karen Rhoades and her husband, Randy; great nieces and nephews Ryan Walker and his wife, Stephanie, Lauren Walker, and Courtney Rhodes; great-great nephews Jason Walker and Jared Walker (on the way). Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Louis Gibson and the Rev. Daniel Reese officiating. Interment will follow at Lewis Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
