Patricia Jackson Radford, 84, of Asheville, passed away in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. She was born to the late Rev.Pearlie Osten and Madgie Hall Jackson on June 5, 1940 in Harnett County. She was preceded in death in 2016 by her husband of fifty-five years, Charles O. Radford, Sr as well as her brothers, Stanley Jackson, Samuel Jackson, Fonzal Jackson, Johnnie Jackson, Franklin Jackson and her sisters, Elizabeth Barefoot, Marie Smith and Mildred Godwin. She is survived by her brother, Ray Jackson (Elaine) and many loving nieces and nephews.

She graduated Erwin High School in Erwin,NC where she excelled both academically and as a star basketball player, a skill she showed regularly to her young son while he was growing up. Patricia spent most of her life in Kinston, NC where she retired as a banking officer with Wachovia Bank. She was a long-time member of Northwest Christian Church where she volunteered her time and talents. Later, she moved to Asheville to enjoy her grandchildren.

Left to carry on her memory are her son, Charles O. Radford,Jr (Chuck) and his wife Tracy; grandson, Charles O. Radford III (Cort) and his wife Casey and granddaughter, Rachel Radford; great granddaughter, Anna Radford and great grandsons, Charlie Radford and Riley Radford.

A private service will be held at the Radford Family Cemetery in Greene County.To all those who knew and loved Patricia, her family thanks you.

  1. Sorry for your loss of Pat. For the time I knew her, I found her to be a fun person. Enjoyed her calls for a time after Casey and Cort’s wedding. And Charles, for the brief time I knew him. They raised a fine son too!
