Mills River~ Patricia Teague Elliott, 72, of Mills River died Monday, May 16, 2005 at Elizabeth House in Flat Rock after fighting a courageous battle with brain cancer. Mrs. Elliott was born February 21, 1933 in Buncombe County to Evalee Sprinkle Teague of Leicester and to the late Redmon “Bud” Teague. She was predeceased by her husband, John Elliott who died in 1991 and her son, John Redmon Elliott. She was a former employee with Belk’s Department Store and also with Middlemount Flower Shop. Mrs. Elliott was instrumental in working with the Mills River incorporation effort and was a volunteer for the Henderson County Youth Softball. She was an avid supporter of West Henderson “Flying Falcon” Marching Band. Mrs. Elliott was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. Surviving in addition to her mother is a daughter, Pam Sharpton and her husband, John of Arden; three sisters, Peggy Bennett of Leicester, Gale Champion and her husband, Ronald of Washington, N.C., and Marcella Morgan and her husband, Roger of Barnardsville; one brother, Bill Teague and his wife, Carolyn of Leicester and three grandchildren, Brenton and Ryan Sharpton and Katrina Ponder. She is also survived by a special niece, Pat Cothran and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Elliott will be held 4:00 pm Friday at Fanning Chapel United Methodist Church with the Revs. Leah McCurley and Paul Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Groce Funeral Home, Lake Julian. Memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice, P.O. Box 2395, Hendersonville, N.C. 28793 or to Fanning Chapel United Methodist Church, 1238 Haywood Road, Fletcher, N.C. 28732.
