Paul Edward Swords

Paul Edward Swords, 71, of Asheville, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at his residence. Born in London, England to the late June Cameron Smith, he was a business broker and a veteran of the US Army. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Carol Clark Swords; two daughters, Kim Thomas of Oakton, VA and Kristin Bontrager of Portland, OR; four grandchildren, Madison Allen, Travis Kern, Jordan Jones, Cameron Bontrager; one great grandchild, Camille Grace Allen, and one sister, Patricia Swords of Midwest City, OK. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 1, at 7:00 p.m. at The Rock Church in Candler, with military honors. Rev. Kirk Bowman will officiate. Visitation will follow the service. Memorials may be made to ALS Association, North Carolina Chapter, 4 N. Blunt St. ST#200, Raleigh, NC, 27601. Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road is assisting the family.
