Peggy Ann Young, 59, passed away at her home in Candler, NC, on Saturday, December 8, 2012. Ms. Young was born to Tom and Allie Rogers on November 24, 1953. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Tony Rogers. She was the beloved mother of Brandy, Amanda, and Scott (and wife Gretchen). She was the proud "Nana" of 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Imogene Reece and Kathy Crews, and brothers Calvin and Lewis Rogers. Ms. Young was dedicated to her "extended family" at the Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center, where she worked as a dedicated CNA for 14 years. Her family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Friday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Ave.

    my deepest sympathy goes out to each of you. you all know how much your mom meant to me and my family, from her living in the ‘little’ house at mamaw’s to us at the old house on Brevard road and then again to Candler. we will forever miss her smiling face and the laugh that went with it, and that tall drink of iced tea also. if there is anything we can do, you know where we are. fly high my dear friend.

She was always there when you needed someone…she was a great supervisor that knew what was right and would stick up for you and fight for what was best right beside or for for you!!!!! She will be missed dearly and never forgotten. Her family will be in my prayers…just know she’s always with you in your heart and watching over you from above!!!

  4. Miss Peggy was one in a million.She was a amazing woman with a spirit that was contagious. Miss Peggy will always be remembered for the love she shared with everyone and the wonderful hugs she gave freely.No matter what if you needed her she was their and her absense is heart breaking.Her family was her shinning glory.She was such a proud mother,grandmother,and great grandmother,and was always bragging.There will never be anyone come close to the wonderful Miss Peggy.To those of us who were lucky enough to be a part of her life,Miss Peggy will always be with us.Now she is our angel from above watching over all of us.Aren’t we so lucky.

  5. Dear Family, I am so sorry for your loss!!! Even though we were apart Peggy was always so special to me. Imogene and Kathy, Lewis and Calvin, I am so sorry that I could not be there today.   9. To the family of Peggy Young. I am still saddened by the loss of her. But our loss is Gods sweet gain of a true angel that loved everyone in her reach. I am sorry I didn’t know about the service, I would have been there. She will forever be a loving woman in my heart that taught me things that i will always hold dear.
