Pete Marshall Stauffer

pete stauffer
Pete Marshall Stauffer, 84, of Leicester, died on Sunday, July 9, 2017, at his residence. A native of Trumbull Co., OH, Pete was a son of the late Clarence and Marjorie Ligg Snauffer. Pete was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea. He retired from Nabisco, where he worked in delivery. After living in Florida for a number of years, Pete made his home on Hanlon Mountain in Leicester. Everyone in Florida pegged him as a "city slicker" who would return home to Miami, but Pete showed them and lived on the mountain for the rest of his life. He was very active within the community, and was the acting President of the Hanlon Mountain Estates HOA. The wildlife and other animals on his property gave him great joy as he captured bear, coyotes, and all others in his photography. Mr. Stauffer will be missed and remembered fondly by his friends and neighbors in the Hanlon Mountain community. A celebration of Pete's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Green Hills Cemetery. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is handling the arrangements.

  2. I’m so sorry for your loss. During this sad time, may you take comfort in God’s loving promises for the future found in the Bible at Revelation 21:3,4 and John 5:28,29. Take care.

  3. I worked with Pete in Asheville until the plant closed . He was always a good friend to me . Pete always had away to make you smile. He might tell a joke or it might be a real life experience. REST IN PEACE my good friend !
    You will be missed !

  4. Pete came into the store I worked and talked to me daily, He always had a way to make your day a little better with his quick witt and jokes and always was a good reminder of how someone should always be caring and giving to even strangers, he would of gave the shirt off of his back if someone needed it! I grew to love this little man dearly and work will always be a little empty without his presence everyday! I feel very blessed that he chose me to be a part of his life!!! Gonna be missed Dearly, Every apple fritter we eat, we will think of you!

  5. I will miss Pete’s smiling face. He was always come cheerful and positive. He was one of my more regular customer’s (for Ialmost 7 years). I looked forward to his visits and conversations. You could tell he was taught ‘The Golden Rule’. He made me a beautiful wood wind chime that I will always look at and think of him. My heart is sad.
