Asheville Butterfly TrailPhyllis Denise West Whittington, 63, of Flat Rock, earned her heavenly wings on Wednesday, July 16.
Phyllis was a native of Henderson County and was the daughter of the late J.W. West and Bonnie West.
She is survived by her husband, James; daughter, Lauren; sisters, Teresa Stills, Cynthia Haney (Erick), and Marlene Rainwater (Rodney).
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with Rev. Erick Haney officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
