Rebecca Lyn Lewis, 65, of 8 Pinehurst Road, Asheville, NC, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021. She was born in Mecklenburg County to Jerome Lewis and Jackie Romieux Lewis who both preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, David Lewis and Kelly Lewis; and a nephew, Aaron Lewis.

Ms. Lewis is survived by two daughters; Sarah Young (Asheville, NC) and Jessica Young (Brooklyn, NY); a brother, Jeff Lewis (Bartlesville, OK) and a sister, Linda Lewis (Bartlesville, OK). Also surviving are three nieces; Tasha Markham, Alyssa Lewis, Hillary Lewis; a nephew, Josh Lewis; and grandchildren; Kailee Young, Kamille McGee, and J.J. McGee.

A huge part of her life was being of service to others through her career as a DSS Social Worker retiring after 30 years of service. She enjoyed volunteering her time.

A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home Tunnel Road on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. COVID-19 restrictions will apply. A Catholic Mass will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to United Way, 50 South French Broad Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801.
