Reda Smith, 70, of Asheville, died Saturday, April 21, 2018. A native of Buncombe Co., Mrs. Smith was a daughter of the late Olen and Reva Warren Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Roy Smith. Surviving are her daughter, Kristy Smith; brother, Jerry Smith; grandchildren, Kassi Smith, Meghan Smith and Seth Ledford; and great-grandchildren, Ayden Friedman, Izaiah Smith-Sheridan, Xander Ledford and Rayne Smith-Garrison. The family of Mrs. Smith will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.

  4. Reda has always been a great joy to me I loved her very much we were very close as children and sometimes as adults. We don’t always have time for all the people we love but they are always in our hearts. I will miss you greatly.

  5. Reda is going to be missed terribly and she was loved dearly. The 1st thing we done when we got to Asheville was call Reda. She was my main reason for coming to Asheviile. Asheville will never be the same.. We would take her out to eat somewhere and spend at least 2 hrs sitting in the restaurant talking. She may be gone but she will never be forgotten.

  7. Reda was a beautiful person on the inside and out. I have such great memories of her when I was younger. I spent alot of time with Kristy and her and we have kept in touch over the years. Reda was such a loving and kind woman and everyone loved her. I remember her big smile and her laugh and she was someone you knew you could trust. Heaven gained a beautiful Angel. Kristy, you and the whole family will be in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time and God Bless all of you.

    I am so very sorry to learn of Reda’s passing. I was blessed to have known her and the family for 45 years. we worked together at Thom’s Rehabilitation for many years and shared fur babies who were sisters, Pudgie and China. I thought the world of her and the entire family. may you all find comfort in knowing what an angel on earth she was. keeping you all in my prayers and close to my heart. FLY HIGH MY PRECIOUS FRIEND !
