Reeves Estus Suttles, 79, of Leicester, died Thursday, October 2, 2014, at Pisgah Manor Health Care Center. A native of Buncombe Co., he was a son of the late Farida and Julie Surrett Suttles. Mr. Suttles was a local businessman of 51 years. He was a beloved friend of the community who was known for his giving heart. He is survived by his wife, Edna Ambrose Suttles; a daughter, Angie Suttles; three sons, Paul Rector, Steve Suttles, and Steve Rector; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers Carmel Suttles and Forrest Suttles; and a nephew, Stewart Roberts. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Sandy Mush Community Center, 90 School Rd., Leicester, NC 28748, with funeral services following at 3:00 p.m. at the Community Center. Interment will be at the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association, abta.org. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
