Rev. William "Bill" Brian Wombough, 75, of Leicester, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Mission Hospital.
Rev. Wombough was the son of the late William and Ruth Wombough. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Janice Spencer Wombough, in November of this year, and by a son, Jack Spencer Wombough.
Rev. Wombough was raised in Elmira, NY. He was a graduate of Greensboro College and Wesleyan Seminary. He spent his career serving churches in the WNC Conference.
Surviving are his daughter, Jacquelyn Sharpe (TJ); son, Ron Wombough (Kim); and three grandchildren, Matthew and Autumn Wombough, and Jackson Sharpe.
Funeral services for Rev. Wombough will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 13, at Little Sandy United Methodist Church, with Rev. Beth Crissman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Little Sandy United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 9507 NC 63 Hwy, Leicester, NC 28748.

Rev. Wombough was my dear friend for more than thirty five years. When I was in school Bill covered my churches in case of emergencies. When I was ill Bill visited me. When I had surgeries bill saw me off with prayers and his presences. He stayed with Rosa until the doctors came pot and said all is well. Many times that involved long trips, I would be on one end of the conference and Bill would be on the other end. Too say that I will miss Bill is an ubderstatement.
I know that my dear friend rests from his duties for he is in the Arms of His Dear Lord and Savior Jesys Christ.
