Reva F. Mathews, 94, of Newfound Road, Asheville, died Friday, November 7, 2014, at her home.
Mrs. Franklin was born in Buncombe Co., and was a daughter of the late Bascomb and Lessie Mae Mauck Franklin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Honson J. Mathews and by a son, Harvey Mathews, who went to be with the Lord in May, 2014.
She is survived by her daughter, Carrie Mae Green and her other half, Tim Medford; son, Sam Mathews (Kaye); three grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren, and her two dogs, Boots and Suzie.
Special appreciation goes to caregivers, Kathryn Gunn, granddaughter, Heather Green, grandson Jason, and special niece Patsy Mathis.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Webb, Tim Medford, and Jason Green.
