Fletcher ~ Richard Warren Sizer, of Sizer Drive, Fletcher died on Sunday, June 5, 2005 at Elizabeth House Hospice.
He was born in South Bend, Indiana to the late Fred Warren Sizer and Imogene Davis Sizer. He moved to Asheville in 1956 where he worked for the US Government as a meteorologist for 37 years. In his spare time he was an amateur Ham Radio operator Civil Air patrol and a member of MARS. He served during WW II in the Air Weather Corp. and served as an elder at Mills River Presbyterian Church.
He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather and is survived by his wife of 42 years, Bonnie Edwards Sizer of Fletcher, a daughter, Catherine Sizer Thomas and husband Scot of Fletcher; a son, Daniel Warren Sizer and wife Julie of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren, Haley Pierson and Chandler Sizer.
Graveside service will be held Friday 11:00 A.M. in Calvary Episcopal Churchyard with the Rev. Randall Boggs officiating.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road.
