Rita F. Pataky, 82, died peacefully Wednesday, March 5th, 2014, at Mission Hospital due to complications from cancer. She was surrounded by her family.
Rita was born June 3, 1931 in Chicago, IL the late Arthur and Mary Braden. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Katy Anne.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, George Pataky. Together they shared many happy times traveling, raising their children, and running their family printing business. Rita was a long standing member of St. Eugene's Catholic Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Karen Nix (Phillip), Laurie Pappas (Arthur), and Jennifer Keleher (Michael), and five grandchildren, all of Asheville. She is also survived by two brothers, Arthur and David Braden.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the Basilica of St. Lawrence, with the Rev. Fr. C. Morris Boyd, D. Min. officiating. Interment will follow at Lewis Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave.
To Karen, I am so sorry for your loss of your Mother. I will be Praying for you and your family. May The Lord give you comfort and Peace in the days ahead. I remember you in Art Class at SFB Junior High. We had Mr. Cunningham. So many of us really enjoyed his class. hugs, Dottie Burge
