Asheville Butterfly TrailRobert “Daddy Bob” Earl Morgan, 87, passed away Monday, March 9, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Mr. Morgan was born in Buncombe County to the late Charles Marshall Morgan and Evelyn Helton Morgan. He was also preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.
Bobby was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired as Superintendent from Ball Brothers Corporation and was a member of Biltmore Church. He was an avid golfer and clogged all over the country with the Smoky Mountain Cloggers.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Ball Morgan; three children, Robert “Chris” Morgan (Connie), Teresa Ellis (Richard) and Derek Morgan; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
The memorial service, which was scheduled for Sunday, March 15, has been postponed and will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Boy Scouts of America, Daniel Boone Council, 333 West Haywood Street, Asheville, NC 28801.

We will miss you so much. Eveytime I got to see you, you reminded me so much of papaw. It helped to ease the pain of losing him. You were a great man who always was smiling. We love you and will miss you very much.

I remember as a Child and being at all the Morgan Functions, Bobby was always so kind to all the children and a child remembers that, I saw him at a restaurant several years ago and he was the same Bobby and remembered me and I have changed so much, Men like him are hard to find and I know he will be missed. Rest easy and I am sure Gran Ma Morgan was so glad to see you.\
