Robert Fred Worley

Robert Fred Worley, 83, beloved husband of Margaret Crownover Worley, died Sunday, December 10, 2006, at the Medical College of Georgia. A native of Sandy Mush, NC, Mr. Worley was a son of the late Ross and Ruth Black Worley. He was a World War II veteran of the US Marine Corps and was a graduate of NC State University. He had lived in Aiken, SC since 1955 and was retired from DuPont at the Savannah River Site. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Kay Collins; two sons, Robert F. Worley, Jr. & Joe Ross Worley; a grandson, Ross Collins; three sisters, Reva Merryfield, Retha Freeman and Martha Ledford; and three brothers, Luther, Paul and Dan Worley. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday at Paynes Chapel in Sandy Mush, NC, with the Rev. Steve Robinson officiating. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. will be assisting the family.
