Robert Harvey “Bobby” Moody, 69, of 2459 Wolftown Rd., Cherokee, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 12, 2007, at Cherokee Indian Hospital.
A native of Buncombe County, Mr. Moody was a son of the late Guy and Clara Fox Moody. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Richard D. “R.D.” Moody.
A graduate of Micaville High School in Burnsville, Mr. Moody worked at D.O. Creasman and was a US Navy veteran. He was a member of Maple Ridge Baptist Church.
A beloved husband and father, Mr. Moody is survived by his wife, Cheryl Fincher Moody; daughters, Mara Moody Queen and husband Rick, of Cherokee, Karen Morton and husband Todd, Karla Moody Bugg and husband Robert, and Misty Reneé Moody, all of Candler; son, Michael Shane Moody and fianceé, Heather Poplai, of Candler; grandchildren, Brittany Clark, Sarah Morton, Karleigh and Karson Bugg, and Jesse Moody; nieces and nephews, Slater, R.D., April and Kyle Moody, Angie Simms, and Kimberly Justus; and great uncle, Jimmy Moody.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Pisgah View Memorial Park with the Rev. Steve Fox officiating.
His family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave.

I was so saddened to hear of your dad’s passing. I could only think of how many times you spoke so highly of him. What a blessing to have had such a wonderful and loving dad. I know your dad also felt so blessed to have such special children and grandchildren. Now may our Father in Heaven give you comfort and assurance that you will be reunited with your dad one day. You and your family will be in my prayers in the days to come.
Our hearts are heavy burdened tonight. We have lost the dearest friend we ever had. Bobby was so kind and full of love for his family and his friends. Any time we talked to him on the phone, he never hung up before he told us that he loved us. He was such a special person and would have done anything to help a friend in need.
The memory of Bobby will remain with us until someday we join him.Bobby was more than a friend, he was family.
