Robert Lee King, Jr.

robert king, jr.

Robert Lee King Jr., born October 1, 1955, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020.

Robert called Western North Carolina “home” for most of his life.

The son of the late Bobby King and Syble King. Robert was the eldest of “the King boys,” preceded in death by his wife, Cricket King, and his siblings, Larry and Garry King.

He is survived by his siblings, Jeff and Wade King; step-children, Tim Crane and Spring Agnitsch; several nieces and nephews; and his loving grandchildren.

From his time in the army, to photographing games, Robert was a collector of photographs, stories and Friends. He loved his family and friends unconditionally. Robert had a long-lasting passion for photography, sports, nature and fishing. He was one of the most supportive and motivating people to the youth of our communities through his sports photography. Robert never met a stranger and lived life to the beat of his own drum. Probably with some southern rock playing in the background.

A celebration of Robert’s life will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Lake Julian Park in Arden. Please wear your school colors, team colors, anything that has to do with sports.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made to North Henderson Baseball Department, 43 Fruitland Drive, Hendersonville, NC 28792.
