  1. I love you so very much papaw roddy. Words can’t explain how sad I am that you are gone. I will never ever forget the times we sat at the bar and had snacks or the times we talked about baseball, NASCAR or how many times you quizzed me about what college professional football players attended. I will always remember talking to you about softball and you telling me the best size bat and how to place my hands or ‘throw em a tater’. You were the only one that never gave me grief about being a Jeff Gordon fan. I will miss your jokes and especially your love for Spencer. You were an absolutely amazing person and I promise you we will take care of Mimi!!! Love you papaw roddy

  2. Rodney always made me laugh when I would see him at the shop. My dad always came home telling us funny stories from work and Rodney was always in the stories. He will be greatly missed. To his family, our deepest condolence’s and sympathy for your loss.

  3. Our sincerest condolences go out to the entire family. Rodney was one of my brothers closest friends, so I’ve known Rodney almost my entire life. Rodney went on several family trips with us when we were kids and my father coached ball for him and my brother. He was loved by my entire family. I will miss Rodney’s stories, jokes and recipes. We frequently saw him at Ingle’s (Lee just saw him a few weeks ago) and were shocked to hear he had passed away. His humor and unforgettable contagious laugh will always be remembered by all.

  4. I worked with Rodney at Precision Products and Precision Products Performance Center for quite a few years back in the 80s and 90s. Lots of great memories, and I’ll never forget his laugh and all that softball talk…

  5. papaw Thank you so much for making me the man I am today you were my father figure, grandpa, and best of all my best friend. from teaching me how to get my fishing line out of the tree to pick up lines we have done it all. the past seven months living next to you as been the best I promise to take care of Mimi just how we talked about in the past. go rest high on that mountain and tell my baby boy I love him and will see yall son I love u

  6. I grew up playing Basketball with Rodney and several friends. He was always good at talking to you and getting your concentration off of him so he could run around ya and score. We also played some softball together in the later years, tho I have not seen Rodney in years I was very saddened to hear of his death. We had a lot of good memories in South Buncombe Basketball times and he will be missed greatly. He was a great guy! My prayers and thoughts are with all his family and friends….God Bless
