Ronald "Ron" Evan Beck, 65, of Hendersonville, died Friday, October 14, 2011 at Park Ridge Hospital. A native of Racine, WI, he was the son of the late Evan and Mildred Jensen Beck. Ron was a retired tool, die & mold maker at Alliance Carolina and A&M Tool. He served as president of YABA of Western North Carolina for several years and was a certified bowling instructor. He, his wife and their daughter were involved with the Special Olympics Bowling. In addition to bowling, Ron enjoyed racing, traveling and baseball. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Nancy Hill Beck; one daughter, Stephanie Beck of Raleigh, NC; two sisters, Judith Lunsford of Jacksonville, FL and Mars Hill, NC and LuAnne Cox of Fletcher; aunt and uncle, Nan and Harold Beck of Arden; aunt, Barbara Light of Racine, WI as well as several cousins in Wisconsin. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 17, 2011 at Emma's Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the committal service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Ronald's memory to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Heart Association. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is in charge of arrangements.

  5. Very sad to hear about Ron’s passing. I enjoyed working with him at our bowling functions. He was dedicated to his family and to the kids in the youth league.   12. Dear Nancy & Stephine We are so sadden to learn of Ronnie’s passing. We have very wonderful memories of Good Times we shared. Like going to races at Asheville Speedway, to movies, out to eat! But especially our trip to Canada!!! Remember the dirt track race we went to? Nancy you and Ronnie were true soul mates. May God surround you in His loving arms and comfort you.
