Ronald Steven West, 71, died Monday, November 13, 2017.
Born in Asheville, he was a son of the late Charles Emory and Frances J. O'Kelley West. He attended Western Carolina University and the University of South Florida, and was an Army veteran. He retired as an enforcement officer with the NC Dept. of Motor Vehicles.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Catolster West; daughter, Kelly Rose West; four step-children whom he loved as if they were his own, Kristin Standingdeer, Kassandra Crowe, Katrina Neff and Kameron Neff; brothers, Gregory West and Michael West; and several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 750 Haywood Rd., Asheville, NC 28806.
