Rosalie O’Daniel Ruckman, of 27 Morse Drive, Asheville, died Sunday, October 1, 2000, at the Hospice Solace Center.

Mrs. Ruckman was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Henry C. and Etta Tilson O’Daniel. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and the Ruth Bible Class.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and mother-in-law who is survived by her husband, William S. “Bill” Ruckman; two daughters, Pat Ruckman-Davis and her husband Rex Davis of Candler and Lisa Foster and her husband David of Asheville; one son, John Hendon and his wife Sondra of Easley, SC; one grandson, Ryan Foster, and seven special friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday at Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. J. Derrill Smith officiating. Burial will be at Pisgah View Memorial Park.

Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue where Mrs. Ruckman will remain until being placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
