Roxie Mae Riddle Treadway, 89, of 150 Ben Lippen Rd., died Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at St. Joseph's Campus, Mission Hospitals. A native of Greenville, TN, Mrs. Treadway was a daughter of the late Richard and Effie Shelton Riddle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Treadway, and by a son, Howard Treadway. Mrs. Treadway was retired from Memorial Mission Hospitals. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She is survived by daughters Hazel Kilby and husband Larry of Swannanoa, and Kathleen Gregg and husband Frank of Leicester; sons Ernie Treadway and wife Kay of Liberty, SC, and Ken Treadway and wife Pam of Laurens, SC; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mark Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park, with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. Her family will receive friends one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 125 Ben Lippen Rd., Asheville, NC 28806.

  3. Ken, Ernie and family! So sorry to hear of your Mothers death. I think I met her a few times and she was a sweet lady. Your family and my family have been friends for years and some of the memories of Ken and Daddy (Herman Sluder) trading horses. The one I remember the most and Daddy and Ricky talked about it alot was when Daddy and Ken traded horse at Laurens exit off of the expressway and it dark. Your Mother is with Charlie and Howard along with my Dad and Momma and if we have the Lord in our lives we will see them again soon. Love and Prayers!

  9. I worked with Ms Treadway at Mission Hospital for 8 yrs she was one of the sweetest people that I have ever had the honor to met. I just Loved working with her she never seemed to have bad days always smiling and talking. We had breakfast together almost every morning. The family is in my thoughts asnd prayers Good bye Ms Roxie. Love you

  10. I am very sorry to hear of this loss. Roxie was a wonderful woman. I went to church with her at Bethel and she was friends with my grandma Doris Culbertson. I boarded one of my horses with her at her barn years ago and she was very kind and helpful. God will be with you during your time of need.
