Roy Ellis Taylor, 74, of Candler, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at Mission Hospital.
A native of Buncombe Co., Roy was a son of the late Charlie Lee Taylor and Lacie Guy Taylor. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and retired from Square D. Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing, and lived for his family.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Rogers Taylor; daughter, Tammy Stephens (Eddie); son, Roger Taylor (Aurea); grandchildren, Christina, Alexander and Anthony Taylor, and Jordan, Olivia, Devon and Dustin Stephens; sister, Barbara Black (Neil); and brother, Marvin Taylor.
Funeral services with military honors will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with Rev. Ken Mashburn officiating. Masks are required and attendance is limited to 50.
For those wishing to pay their respects, Mr. Taylor will lie in repose from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Private family burial will be held.

Remembering Roy from our years at Square D. He was highly respected by all and set the standard as a dedicated member of the SQD family. We had a lot of great conversations over the years and I always admired his candidness and willingness to speak his mind.
