Roy Lee Angel, 59, of Arden, died Saturday, December 2, 2006 at a local hospital. A native of Henderson County, he was a son of the late Clyde and Annie McIntosh Angel. He was also preceded in death by a son, Roy Scott Angel, who died in 1982; three sisters, Louise Ray, Wanell Leonard and Lois West and a brother Clarence Angel. Mr. Angel retired from Volvo and was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Shirley Ann Culbertson Angel; two daughters, Teresa Angel of the home and Kimberly Angel of Arden; two grandsons, Nathan and Brandon McCoy; one sister, Wilma Gordon of Fletcher and three brothers, J. Bryan Angel of Hendersonville, Clyde Angel, Jr. of Mills River and Bobby Gene Angel of Pickens, SC. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. Interment will follow at Shepherd Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Eblen Foundation, 12 Regent Park Blvd., Asheville, NC 28806.
