Ruby Ellen Ridge Young Arden- Ruby Ellen Ridge Young, 86, of Arden, entered the arms of her Heavenly Father at 12:35 pm on Sunday, February 1, 2015. Ruby loved the Lord with all her heart and shared His love with everyone whose life she touched. She always put the needs and cares of others ahead of her own. She was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be missed more than words can express! She was born to Isa Mae and Henry Lewis Ridge on October 2, 1928 in Honea Path, South Carolina. She was married to JD Young on April 17, 1949. Ruby was an extraordinary woman and a most loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, JD Young of Arden, NC; 2 brothers, John and Grover Ridge, both of Honea Path; SC, 1 sister, Frances Wolf of Greenwood, SC; 2 sons: Les Young of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Lloyd Young of Leicester, NC; 1 daughter: Andrea Burgess of Brooksville, FL and 6 grandchildren: Matthew, Megan, Erin, Melissa, Kameron and Dustin. She was predeceased by three brothers, Joe, Roy, and Robert "Bob" Ridge; three sisters, Gladys Black, Ruth Campbell, and Carrie Finley as well as two granddaughters, Kathryn Ann Young and Alyssa Ellen Burgess. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 in the chapel of the Western Carolina State Veteran's Cemetery in Black Mountain with Reverend G. Scott Lynch officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association. http://www.alz.org/join_the_cause_donate.asp Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
