Ruth Brown Stewart

Ruth B. Stewart Asheville – Ruth Brown Stewart, 91, of Asheville, passed away peacefully and gracefully at Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Community on Sunday, November 30, 2014 where she received the most loving, compassionate and professional care from the day she moved into Assisted Living until her final days under CarePartners Hospice in the Skilled Care Unit. She was born in Newark, OH to J. Clarke and Hazel M. Brown. She was preceded by her parents, her husband, Charles R. Stewart who died in 2010 as well as a son, Bruce F. Stewart who died in 1984. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Ginny Pierson and her husband, Bill, of Asheville; grandson Cory Pierson and his wife, Megan, of Raleigh; her two Colorado families, daughter-in-law, Kris Stewart and Jerry Johanson of Woodland Park, CO, grandsons Jeff Stewart and his wife, Sarah, of Woodland Park, CO and Brian Stewart and Lona Garrett of Colorado Springs, CO; a special "son", Todd Hayes and his wife, Molly, and their children, Ruby and Bruce of Steamboat Springs, CO as well as a special "daughter", Faye Frewin of Asheville. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 8, 2014 at Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Community's Simonds Healthcare Center Chapel. In lieu of flowers, Ruth would have loved for you to experience, in abundance, what Jesus Christ filled her life with for the last four years…joy, hope, peace, love, generosity and kindness.
