Ruth Elizabeth Digges Adams, 101, of Asheville, NC passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025. She was born in Miami, Florida to George Gresham and Gertrude White Gresham who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son, George Digges, IV. Ruth was also preceded in death by her first husband, George “Bill” Digges, III and her second husband, Roy Adams.
Ruth is survived by a daughter; Sandie Digges Davis, grandchildren; Sara Hicks (Kenny), Chad Calloway, Travis Digges (Racyne), great-grandchildren; Laine, Rylee, Paris, Peyton, Kayla, Wade and Kenlee, great-great grandchildren; Lucas, Zayne, and Cooper.
Ruth worked at Jackson Memorial in Dade County, Florida, once she relocated to Asheville, she worked at Mission/St. Joe’s Hospital and taught at A-B Technical Community College in the LPN Program.
A service is planned for Monday, December 8, 2025 at 11:30 a.m., East Asheville Methodist Church with the Rev. Phil Hurst, officiating. A Visitation with family and friends will be thirty minutes prior to the service. A burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, Asheville, NC. Ruth will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
