Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Mrs. Farmer will be missed at our church. I know it has been a while since I have seen her but we always spoke when she sat in my section. I loved her and respected her. She is worshipping our Lord Jesus on high.

  2. Dear Brenda, Steve and Family, Your mother loved the Lord and faithfully served Him in the West Asheville Baptist Church choir. Many years we sat near each other in the soprano section and had sweet fellowship, thus there are sweet memories to treasure. May the promises of The Lord’s comfort and hope embrace you during this difficult time. Jesus said… “I Am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in Me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die” John 11:25-26 Much love and prayers

  3. Steve and Brenda,
Your mother was a faithful member of West Asheville Baptist Church. She loved her church. She was also a faithful member of the choir. Her beautiful smile was always a blessing to see. Our family will be praying for you during this time of the loss of your mother. We also rejoice with Ruth because she is with her Savior and Lord.
    With sympathy and much love,
    Ellen Johnson

  4. Brenda, Steve and Precious,
Pat & I will really miss Ruth. We always looked forward to stopping in and chatting with her on our afternoon walks down Selwyn. We feel like a piece of us is gone. May she now rest in peace.

  5. I remember Ruth from school. Always so nice and friendly. May she rest in peace and love she shared from friends and family.

  6. Ruth Farmer was a real good friend to me. She and I shared Bible Study classes together. She will be missed at WABC.

  7. What a blessing it was to know Ruth during my time at West Asheville Baptist. Had many good conversations with her. She is finally well with no more sickness. Praying for your family.

  8. Brenda,
I’m so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. My own mother passed last year at 92, so I know what a great loss this is. I think of you often and the good times we had growing up at WABC.

  9. Dear Brenda,
I’m so sorry for your mom’s passing–and at the same time grateful that she is no longer suffering. I remember her big, beautiful smile and her dry humor from when we were growing up at West Asheville Baptist. In more recent years, I heard about her from my mom, who enjoyed talking with her in Sunday School and on the phone, exchanging books to read, and playing Uno with her and four other friends. Mom and I are praying for you and Steve in this time of loss and transition. You took great care of your mom these past few years. It was a blessing to her to have such a wonderful daughter. Love and peace to you, my friend.

  10. Dear Family, Ruth was a sweet friend from many years at West Asheville Baptist Church. Always pleasant and loving. Brenda, I remember you kept my children one Summer and that brings sweet memories. We also lived near Ruth on Selwyn Place back in the 60’s. Now she is singing in the heavenly choir and worshipping the Savior. “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him.” Romans 15:13 Priscilla Morgan

  11. Brenda,Steve and Pam. I’m so sorry for your loss. I have sweet memories of your mom from all the trips we took together growing up, but if also seeing her at Suntrust in recent years and of her telling me about her cat’s escapades and keeping me updated on all of you. It’s never the same once you lose your mother but she sure did love her kids❤️

  12. I loved seeing Ms. Ruth at church. We joked many times about our getting old and marveled at God’s Mercy on our bodies and minds. I will miss her and our ha ha times together until we meet again on the other side. Gain piece in the Lord!
