Ruth Hughes Shuler, 92, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021, from complications of kidney failure.

She is survived by her children, Joe Creasman (Lisa), Gloria Trexler (Bill), Jan Kidwell (Hal), and Margaret Page; step-son, Allen Shuler; brothers, Jim Hughes and Dewey Hughes (Thelma); sister-in-law, Nella Mae Hughes; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William C. and Della Estep Hughes; brothers, Ben, Bill, Glen, and J.B. Hughes; and sisters, Rhoda Gillespie and Betty Maynard.

Her family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 13, at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. The graveside service will immediately follow at 2:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Melissa Hughes will officiate.

The family expresses thanks to special friends, J.B. and Barbara Harris, Betty Howard, Rachael and Joell Bravo, Bruce Christon, and special niece, Joan Painter.
