Ruthine West Owensby, 78, died Monday, July 18, 2011, at her residence.
She was a native of Rutherford County, NC, and was the daughter of the late John H. and Florence Smith West.
Mrs. Owensby is survived by a son, Wilburn F. Kilpatrick of Asheville; daughters, Elizabeth Ann Holt of Asheville and Wanda Lea of West Virginia; sisters, Melvina Roper, and Mary Wyatt of Asheville, Kat Taylor of Weaverville; six grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
A funeral service for Mrs. Owensby will be in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home, Tunnel Road, Thursday, July 21, at 3:00 p.m. The Rev. Steve Brockwell will officiate.
Her family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 til 9 pm at the funeral home.
Aunt Ruth you will be missed so much by myself and the family. You are now in the hands of God with your mother. I will see you again some sweet day! Love, Charles.
