Samuel Eugene Fisher, 76, of 18 Friendly Hollow, Asheville, died Friday, October 13, 2000, at his home.

Mr. Fisher was born in Jackson County and was a son of the late William Claude and Mattie Mae Broome Fisher. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Parker Fisher, a daughter, Jane Hyatt and by a grandson, Jeremy M. Hyatt.

He was an Army veteran of WW II and was an active member of the VFW.

Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Pruitt of Asheville and Brenda Morgan of Grayson, GA; two sons, Larry Fisher of Social Circle, GA and Tony Fisher of Snellville, GA; and a brother, William Vance Fisher of Glenville, NC; two sisters, Betty Sue Moore and Carolyn Moore of Asheville; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Monday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack W. Collins officiating. Burial will be at Pisgah View Memorial Park.

His family will receive friends from 6 - 7:30 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
