Born in: Gaston County, NC
Resided in: Arden, NC

Arden- Sandy Elizabeth Torrey, 26, died unexpectedly on Monday, December 19, 2022.

A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of Jack Emmette Stallings, II and of the late Teresa Ann Praytor.

Sandy had a way of always lighting up whatever room she entered. Whether she was having a good day or a bad day she always managed to have a positive outlook on life. She, as we all do, shared her fair share of struggles within life. However, she never lost sight of her selflessness and loyalty to her family and friends. Sandy fiercely loved everyone around her. She was a wonderful mother and cared deeply for her children, Elizabeth and Leighton. She had this infectious laugh that would instantly take any bad mood or worry away. She was independent from a very young age and was determined to do it her way. Everyone remembers her as an old soul. She was mature from a young age and always had little pieces of wisdom to give. Sandy was the type of person you could depend on no matter the circumstances and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her father, Sandy is survived by her fiancé, Jason Hutto; her children, Leighton Chance Hutto and Elizabeth Noel Torrey; a sister, Jasmine Davis of Mills River; two brothers, Jack E. Stallings, III (Lauren) of Fletcher and Dalton Davis of Mills River; maternal grandfather, Bill Praytor of Hendersonville; paternal grandfather, Jack Stallings, Sr. of Clover, SC as well as a niece, Skylar Stallings and a nephew, Brantley Stallings.

A private family service will be held in the near future. Groce Funeral at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
