Scott Wilson, 86, of Mill Spring, went to be with the Lord Thursday, May 5, 2016, at the CarePartners Solace Center.
A native of Yancey Co., he was a son of the late Baxter and Leatha Adkins Wilson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Harris Wilson, sister Beulah Whitson, and brother Charlie Wilson.
Mr. Wilson retired from Johnson Motor Line. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church.
Surviving are his daughters, Ella Wynell Jones (David) and Helen Holden (Bud), both of Asheville; son, Michael Scott Wilson (Maude), of Asheville; grandchildren, Jeremy Jones (Stella), Angela Yelder, Bobby Jones, Deana Jones, Kim Harwood (Jeff), Chene Flannigan, Royce Holden (Sarah), Amanda Wilson, and Jonathan Wilson (Jessica); fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at Riverside Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Elk Mountain Cemetery in Woodfin.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Ave.

I’m so sorry for y’all loss. He was always good to me. He would bring me vegetables when I worked at the store. We use to give each other a hard time. I’ll miss him.

Scott was a great man and saint of God. He will be truly missed. I love you guys and praying for God’s peace and comfort during this time of grief. Remember, it won’t be long before you see him again.
Scott Wilson was a long time friend of our family. He was a very good man and we have many memories of time spend with him years ago through his enjoyment with his horses. Our deepest condolences to each of his family members and cherished friends.
We are so sorry for the loss of your father. Just remember you will see him again one day. That helps us through these hard times. May God hold you all close and comfort you.
Simple words cannot express how sorry I am for your loss. Scott was a great gentleman,,We loved him and will miss him also. Helen, Richard and I will keep you and your family in our prayers. We love your entire family,,they have always been so good to us.
I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many wonderful memories of being at Scott and Boots’s house when I was young. The thing I remember the most was the laughter. I remember running to Scott and him picking me up and throwing me into the air and then catching me.
