Scott Wilson, 86, of Mill Spring, went to be with the Lord Thursday, May 5, 2016, at the CarePartners Solace Center. A native of Yancey Co., he was a son of the late Baxter and Leatha Adkins Wilson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Harris Wilson, sister Beulah Whitson, and brother Charlie Wilson. Mr. Wilson retired from Johnson Motor Line. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. Surviving are his daughters, Ella Wynell Jones (David) and Helen Holden (Bud), both of Asheville; son, Michael Scott Wilson (Maude), of Asheville; grandchildren, Jeremy Jones (Stella), Angela Yelder, Bobby Jones, Deana Jones, Kim Harwood (Jeff), Chene Flannigan, Royce Holden (Sarah), Amanda Wilson, and Jonathan Wilson (Jessica); fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at Riverside Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Elk Mountain Cemetery in Woodfin. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Ave.

  1. I’m so sorry for y’all loss. He was always good to me. He would bring me vegetables when I worked at the store. We use to give each other a hard time. I’ll miss him.

  6. I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many wonderful memories of being at Scott and Boots’s house when I was young. The thing I remember the most was the laughter. I remember running to Scott and him picking me up and throwing me into the air and then catching me.
