Sheryl Rice Warren, 71, of Weaverville, NC, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 6, 2025.

Sheryl was born on April 22, 1954, to the late Elisha and Zula Rice. Sheryl was also preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Blackwell.

Sheryl worked at Square D Co. for 32 years. When Square D moved to Mexico, she took a job at TC Roberson (PEP program) as a teacher’s assistant, from which she retired.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 52 years, Wayne Warren; two daughters, Misty Shuffler (Mike) and Cristy George (Jimmy); two granddaughters whom she adored, Skyler George and Makenzie Shuffler; and brothers, Jerry Dale and Doyle Rice.

Her family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 9, at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. Private burial will be held at Piney Mountain United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Her family would like to express their gratitude to the Elizabeth House, in Flat Rock, NC.

  1. I am sooo very sorry for your loss. Mom told me that Sheryl had passed away. She was always such a sweet lady and always had a smile on her face and loved her family. I will be praying for y’all.

  2. Sheryl was such a sweet and thoughtful person. We had so many good times at Square D. that I will always remember and be thankful for. If there’s anything I know for certain is that she loved her girls and her family. She could always bring out a smile in others! She will absolutely be missed.
