Stella Mae Gilliland Dorn, 82, of Fletcher, died on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Flesher's Fairview Health & Retirement Center.
A native of Henderson Co., Mrs. Dorn was a daughter of the late Everette and Fannie Louise Fowler Gilliland. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Joseph Dorn; and son, William Arthur Dorn.
She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Dorn, of Fletcher; son, James Floyd Dorn, of Fletcher; sister, Rebecca Gilliland, of Hendersonville; and several nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.

Sometimes gentle words can do so much to soften
the intense sadness when a dear loved one dies. God’s word acknowledges that
